Rev. Dr. Ray McGee is the Senior Pastor of Metropolitan United Methodist Church. Prior to Metropolitan, he served as the Pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church in Flint, MI from July 2004 - June 2011.
Rev. Dr. Ray McGee is an urban pastor. He was born in Detroit and lived his earliest years on Detroit’s east-side. He is very akin to Detroit's history and identity. For 20 years, Rev. Dr. McGee was an engineer at the General Motors Power Train Plant in Willow Run. When he received the call to ministry, he entered a United Methodist Course of Study, attended Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, and in May 2010 received his Doctorate in Ministry.
Rev. Dr. McGee is a devoted student of the Bible, continually seeking disciples for Jesus Christ. Calvary’s many urban outreach programs reflect that strong influence. Rev. Dr. McGee is one of God’s faithful servants: enthusiastic, hard working, high energy, and packaged in friendliness and a wonderful sense of humor.
