Dame Gillian Weir, organ recitalist

Internationally acclaimed concert organist, teacher, and recording
artist Dame Gillian Weir has been recognized as “one of the 100 Greatest
Keyboard Players of the Century” as well as “one of the 1000 Music
Makers of the Millennium”. Performing world-wide at major festivals and
with leading orchestras and conductors, Dame Gillian is famous as a
distinguished musician known for her artistry, virtuosity and
integrity. Her consummate performance and scholarly reputation have
placed her in constant demand as lecturer, broadcaster, teacher, writer,
and
adjudicator.
She
is considered a pre-eminent interpreter of the works of Messaien and
Bach and has been awarded numerous honors in recognition of her
distinguished services to music. Most recent performance venues include
the USA, Canada, Spain and Scandinavia, as well as the prestigious
Leipzig Gewandhaus and Cologne Philharmonie, Notre-Dame in Paris and
London’s Royal Festival Hall. This concert will feature a breadth and
variety of styles, as typifies her repertoire.
